Finished reading "An Acceptable Time" about 2 weeks ago and started reading the book "The Chase" by Clive Cussler.
The "An Acceptable Time" was and interesting book.
The main characters are Polly and Zacharie.
Zacharie and Polly find them self passing through a time gate at the star watching rock, they go back in time 3000 years at the star watching rock to a time when there were Indian and the valley that they live in, is a great lake.
Zacharie has and bad heart so He trying to get this fix, and Polly is to help the two tribes that live on opposite side of the lake to live together in peace.
A fun book to read, but probably would not read it again.
The author ( Madeleine L'Engle) has written about 60 books in her life time, I could see how Her writing had change over that time, Her writing style had improved, from the first book to this one, it was about 20 years or so. Madeleine L'Engle has just pass-way in September 2007.
Almost done with "The Chase".
Most Cussler books, are about adventure in the sea, but this is a Westen.
The book is about a Bank Robber, who has robbed 15 banks in over 5 years, only taking the cash and not the gold.
No one has lived to tell who it is or what happens, because anyone that is in the bank is killed by the robber. The Van Dorn Detective agency has been hired by the US government to catch or chase the Butcher Bandit.
