The almost the last snow of the year.

The snow just seem to not run out.

But here is picurer of one of the last storm of the hear.

When I started this I thought the snow was over, but I was so wrong.

We had lots of little storm.

I was in Willams pulling buses out of 8 inches of snow.

I had two buses stuck pretty good, I got one out in about 15 minutes with a shovel, after driving for 45 minutes. Ha Ha.

The other one had drop off the road in to a ditch by the time I had gotten there.

I didn't have my camera with me but it was fun.

Just Sunday(March 18), on the way from church, we had about every weather you could guess,

Snow, hale, sleat, white out, blowing sides way and flat sides, but we did not see any snow, snowing up yet, Ha Ha.

A Anniversary to Mark the Month Febraruay

Rochelle and Dan were married 33 years ago on Feburay 9.

It seem just like yesterday, that this took place.

We went out to a movie and dinner and had a good time.

Boy what a long time, my parent last only 25 years.

It seem to get easier, some ways and harder in other ways.

But you gotta laughing every day, its to hardar to cry.

These are the only pictures I have, I lost all the goods one when the computer crashed last year. I'll let you guess who is who. Ha Ha.

Move Night

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Rochelle and Dan went out tonight (4:30) and caught this move.

A good move and lots of action and a good ending.

A little long over 2 hours.

A good one to see if your looking a good one.

Dominic In The Bouncey House

On June 25 the City of Central Point, had this Battle of the Bones, near were Molly lives, about two blocks away.
Its a big food thing, seem like a lot of money for the small amount of food you get, and it tasted pretty good.
But the three bounce houses were cool and Dominic love these.

And they were FREE.


There was a bigger one, but I didn't get a picture of it because I was inside with Dominic.
There were these air block you had to clime over and a hill and at the end, a big slide.

We raced though it. LOL

Table Rock Hike

The RS need and couple of Priesthood holder to go on the hike with them 2 Saturday ago.
So I went alone.
I learn why the upper table rock is call UPPER, it is because it is up river from the lower table rock.
(up the Rogue River)
Marcia Winteer works for the BLM as a botanist and seems to know all about the flower grown on and around table rock.
So have some video of the flow names.

Easter Time

Easter at the Ford house.
We had a fire in the fire pit and had hot dogs and salads of different types.
Paul and Robyn and kids.
Sari and Andrew and kids.
Mike and Brook and kids.
Mike and Heather and kid.
Lots of eggs to find.
The weather was very good to uses.
A small sprinkle of rain.
Had a great time visiting and caching up on what everyone is up to.
The old swing was rediscovered out back, I did not get out there for the pictures.
All had a good time.

Maui Under Water

Sam and myself did three dive over there.
One at Five Caves, and two at the Dumpe.
None were very deep, and had lots of bottom time.

Maui Fun

Sorry, this is so way late in coming out with the video, of Maui.
All the boys are having a great time.
Build stuff in the sand, not sure which ones are having more fun, the little boys or the big boys. LOL



The weather was great, in the 70s most of the time we're there.
It was sad to come home to cold Oregon.

When The Winds Come

Had a little wind the other night.
Started out with thunder rolling for about 10 minutes
then the rain started then the wind begin to blow.
By 5:00PM the power wires were pulled down by a fir tree near Minthorne road.
Both wires broken in two.
Lots of other trees came down, around the valley. Some house got trees down on them, as will.
When I called PPL, to get the lines fixed, said that there was 33, 000 homes with out power, by 6:00PM.
The power was out Sunday night and did not get fixed till 1:00AM Tuesday.

This poor guy's pick up is just not the same.

The Word of the Day "Flibbertigibbet"

Meg Ryan as a Flibbertigibbet.

is a Middle English word referring to a flighty or whimsical person, usually a young woman. In modern use, it is used as a slang term, especially in Yorkshire, for a gossipy or overly talkative person. Its origin is in a meaningless representation of chattering. ^[1]

This word also has a historical use as a name for a fiend, devil or sprite. In Shakespeare's King Lear (IV, i (1605)), he is one of the five fiends Edgar (in the posture of a beggar, Tom o' Bedlam) claimed was possessing him. Shakespeare got the name from Samuel Harsnett's Declaration of Egregious Popish Impostures (1603),^{[citation needed]} where one reads of 40 fiends, which Jesuits cast out and among which was Fliberdigibbet, described as one of "foure deuils of the round, or Morrice, whom Sara in her fits, tuned together, in measure and sweet cadence."

By extension it has also been used as a synonym for Puck. Through its use as a nickname for a character in Sir Walter Scott's Kenilworth, it has gained the meaning of an impish child.^[2]

Flibbertigibbet similarly features as a name in a local legend around Wayland's Smithy. According to the tale, Flibbertigibbet was apprentice to Wayland the Smith, and greatly exasperated his master.^[3] Eventually Wayland threw Flibbertigibbet down the hill and into a valley, where he transformed into a stone. Scott associates his Flibbertigibbet character in Kenilworth with Wayland Smith.^{[citation needed]}

Another historical connection and likely origin of the word comes from "fly by the gibbet". A gibbet can refer to a platform or cage used to execute criminals and display their remains outside a town to warn other would-be criminals. The remains over time would be picked apart by small creatures and birds and thus 'fly away'. "Fly by the Gibbet" may also have been used as a sailing expression to refer to hoisting the gibbet sail. This is a large sail that can be used when sailing with the direction of the wind to capture as much wind as possible. A sail that has not been pulled tight will flap in the wind, which may have also contributed to the association.

Buses

Not a very good picture, but that's me in front of whats left of a bus.
I'm pointing at the bus number 265, I believe I had a bus in Grants Pass with that number about 20 years ago.
This was taken in Maui, two week ago, on the road to Hana, a long driver to no were.
There is about 75 one lane bridges and lots turns getting to Hana.
Way cool rain forest area, with bamboo forest covering hole hill sides.
Most of the water fall had dried up, but still pretty cool to see.

New Years Eve 2010

2010 seen out with a small group of
family this year.
I think most of uses were in bed when
it really happened.
But Auston had the right ideal when He got to the Ford home, as can be seen here.
At midnight, as dose happen in our part of the world, (bunch of rednecks) guns start going off all over the area, people shooting up into the air.
And we were baby sitting Duke the dog, here he comes running down the hall to jump into our bed.
Duke is scared to death of gun fire.
Rochelle spent some time calming the poor dog down so we could all go to sleep. Good job Rochelle. LOL

Chistmas 2010

Had everyone over but Elder Ford and He called and talked for one hour.

The grandsons got to open a bag full of little cars.
This was to hold them off from opening the big boxes.
So there was about 25 + cars in each bag and they still had a little trouble on who's car went into what bag.





We had just about everyone here, but Elder Ford and we sent him a box full of stuff.

He got a 12 inch tree.

and some candy stuff as will.

The MTC, Look OUT

Elder Ford, has left for the MTC in Utah.
He will be there for three weeks, and then move on to California for only 101 weeks in the mission field.
Daniel is the most ready Elder I have ever seen go out, but, me being his Dad, shouldn't have anything to do with my thinking. LOL.
We are really proud of Daniel, He is going because he wants to go, not because the bishop or parents say he should go.
He truly has the spirit of missionary work.
He left on Wednesday November 17.
We mist Him at Thanksgiving, but He will be back, in 2 Thanksgiving from now.
I'll get my letter writing skill tune-up and share in his experience by hearing from him all the time.
And Alex was there, so we hope He doesn't think Daniel is on a plane for 2 years.
I can see it now, every time a plane flys over, Alex will wave at Daniel. :)

Bear in the Neighborhood

The bears are coming out for dinner.
A friend from work, send these to me.
She live down the road about 3 miles from are house.
The bears, three bears come down off the hill be behind the house.
The images are not very good when enlarged.
I had been planning a hike in the area were the bear are coming out of, to look for a old grave marker of a child, from around the 1900's.
Not sure if I do it now.
Very brave bears, most stay away from humans.
The owner of the night camera has a dog, the bears may be eating the dog food?

Daniel's Got The Call

Daniel is going on a mission.
To Sam Fernando, California.
And Dad is so happy the can't believer it really happened :)
The mission covers from Mammoth, Bishop, Lone Pine, Ridgecrest, Rosamond, Lancaster, Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Santa Clarita, and finely the San Fernando Valley just north of Los Angeles.

Daniel will be leaving in mid November.

We will let everyone know when we do the farewell party.

Alex was sleeping on the coach.

The Sky Lake Wilderness Hike

On July 6, Daniel and Dad hike into the Sky Lake Wilderness.
The area we choice to hike to was the Seven Lake basin.
And we found seven lake and visited six of the seven.
We started out from the house about 9 am and arrived at the trail head about noon.
Very nice day not to hot, and the mosquito were as hungery as ever.
I was bite about 4 time just butting the pack on, so it came off and the bug spray was applied.
We start up again and made are way up the trail, through old growth timber that is starting to die, and is very beautiful.
At about 2 mile we came to the great gopher meadows, with huckleberry bushes just starting to bloom out.
The wild flows were just coming on when we passed by.
At about 4 miles, we came to our first snow drift, pretty small, but about 50 feet across.
For the next two and half miles the drifts got bigger till that was all we were walking on was snow.
The trail was gone, so we had to relie on 70 year old trail blaze marks on the trees.
At time we couldn't find these, so we just walked in the general direction till we would find one.
It took about 4 hours to walk in, to lake Alta, I was shock the lake was full of snow.
No place for a bath this time.
We did find a place to set-up are camp on dry ground.
Day two we hiked down to the other 5 lake, and Daniel really wanted to go to Grass lake, because it had lots of grass to lay in, or so it looked like from base camp.
When got to grass lake, the grass was pretty rough and wet looking and He did not lay down on it.
We stay two nights, and looked like it was going rain pretty hard on uses but the wind blow the clouds out, so we stay pretty dry.
Now our shoes stay pretty wet, and drying them over the fire, almost melted them, maybe just a little.
Had now camera at the time so I got now pictures, but there is all ways next time.
It took about 2 1/2 house to hike out and it was sure hot when we got back to the car.
Glade we had A/C this time.
